Dear endorser of the Global Tapestry of Alternatives,

We are happy to announce the public launching of the Global Tapestry of Alternatives, which you have kindly endorsed. The list of endorsers is given in the attached document. Also attached is a brief note on the process and outcomes of this process. We realize that there is still a lack of full clarity on the specifics of the process, and on the precise outcomes we want, but in a way that is deliberate, for we would like to seek collective clarity on these with you all and other partners, as we 'walk together'.

Importantly also, the current list of endorsers is not the final list, we are continuing to seek the support of other networks, movements, organisations that are transnational in scope, and of key individuals who have significant standing in circles seeking systemic, fundamental transformation. You will notice that several of the initial list of about 50 such groups (which were in the original mail we sent you) are not yet on the list of endorsers, mainly because we have not been able to get across to them. If any of you have connections to these, do please help us get their endorsement. The GTA now also has a website (www.globaltapestryofalternatives.org), which has the initial documents, names of endorsers, report of activities, publications etc., and will be used as the main online platform for interaction and outreach. If you have any comments on its look and content, please do let us know.

Last month, the GTA has figured in sessions during the first international reunion to prepare the World Social Forum on Transformative Economies (Barcelona, 5-7 April) and the Systemic Alternatives Symposium organised by Edge Funders (Rio, 7-10 April). The launching of the GTA was announced at these forums, and we will continue promoting the vision and activities of the GTA in other events coming up this summer. If any of you are part of such forums where you think it would be relevant for the GTA to participate, do please let us know. What is important is that the process is decentralized, not necessitating or dependent too much on the current core team, but slowly becoming truly global while centred around the core values and principles of systemic transformation as briefly laid out in the attached notes.

We are excited about the process, and looking forward to working with you all to make it a small yet meaningful contribution towards taking the world towards greater sanity and justice.
