Introduction

On February 25 Abdullah Öcalan, the founding leader of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) who has been held captive in isolation for 26 years at the Imrali island prison, shared a declartion for peace. Now that the PKK has officialy disbanded this session seeks to bring some context to PKK dissolution, including Abdullah Ocalan's call, its impact on the revolution in Rojava / North and East Syria, and future prospects.
